John works as a technician in Syarikat Aerolux, a manufacturing company which is situated in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. John earns a salary of RM 2750 as well as RM100 phone allowance every month.
On 1st of January, he worked the normal hours of 8.30 am to 5.30 pm but later extended to 7.30 pm on request by his supervisor.
John’s rest day is on Wednesdays. On Wednesday 12th of January, he was requested to report for duty as the company is expecting delivery of new machineries and John as the technician in charge need to be on site. He was in by 9.00am on that day and clocked out at 2.00pm.
On the 24th of January, which is a public holiday in Malaysia, he and his team worked on routine repairs and maintenance of the machineries. They start work as usual at 8.30am but all workers in his section are ordered to go back early at 4.00pm due to several Covid 19 positive cases and observed self-quarantine.
On 30th January, John and his team returned to work as usual but stayed back until 9.30 pm to finish off all pending repairs.
