1. (a) Suppose, Mr. Tames cannot understand why cash realizable value does not decrease when an uncollectible account is written off under the allowance method. Clarify this point for Mr. Tames. 3 (b) The following is the financial position of Robotic Limited as on January 01, 2020. 10 Accounts Receivable 7,25,000 Less: Allowance for doubtful debts (15,000) 7,10,000 During the year of 2020, the following transactions were made related to receivables: (1) Credit sales Tk. 19,00,000. (ii) Collection from receivable account Tk. 1,50,000. Write off (a) accounts receivable deemed uncollectable for which no allocation for doubtful account was provided for amounting to Tk. 11,000 and (b) accounts receivable deemed uncollectable for which allowance for doubtful account was provided for amounting to Tk. 2,500. (iv) Recovery from accounts receivable written off in previous years Tk. 6,000. (v) Estimated allowance for doubtful accounts are to be maintained at 0.40% of sales on credit. Required: Pass the Journal Entry. Present accounts receivable in the statement of financial position as on December 31, 2020
