1. A water skier has a mass of 100 kg including all of his gear as shown in the figure. The skier is towed towards a ramp by a tow rope from a boat. The ramp is inclined at a 30 angle and has a length of 7.5 m. When the skier hits the ramp, he drops the tow rope and glides up the ramp. The skier hits the base of the ramp and starts moving up the ramp with a speed of 15.2 m/s. The ramp is rough and the coefficients of kinetic and static friction between the skis and the ramp are, respectively 0.10 and 0.15. a) Calculate the work done by each of the forces acting on the water skier while they are on the ramp. If the work done by a particular force is zero, explain why that's the case. (4 marks) E Max height 7.5 m b) Using the work-kinetic energy theorem, determine the speed of the water skier as they launch off of the ramp. (2 marks)
