1. Based on your reading of chapter 3 this week, it is obvious we have a lot of taxes here in the United States, the most complicated being our federal income tax system. We have to pay taxes to have the things we have in this country. What would be a better way, and a more fair way to determine how much citizens should owe each year in taxes? Should a person's ability to pay be proportional? (this can include your opinions but make sure it is very substantive and thorough)

2. When you are budgeting, should you consider sales tax on the item(s) you are buying in your budgeted amount? What about when purchasing large items like a car or boat?
