1. Be able to summarize the steps in the scientific method. 

2. What is the purpose of an abstract? How is it useful to the reader? 

3. What is the basic structure of an introduction? What does this culminate in? How can we tell if the writer has done a good job as we are reading? 

4. List the common elements of a method section, using analytical, quantitative, conclusive research as an example. 

5. Should an author explain the results as they relate to the hypotheses in the results section? 

6. What is the format of a discussion section?
