a. A four-station line with single-machine stations, where the average processing times are 15, 20, 10 and 12 minutes, respectively.
b. A three-station line where the number of machines at stations 1, 2 and 3 is 2, 6, and 3, respectively; and the average processing times are 10, 24 and 18 minutes, respectively.
c. A three-station line with six operators, where a part needs an operator at stations 1, 2 and 3 for and average of 10, 15 and 5 minutes, respectively. There are plenty of machines at each station, so many that we are confident none of them could be the bottleneck resource, so we dont need to calculate any of their processing rates.
d. The same line as in part c, except this time there are only 3 machines at station 2, which take 15 minutes to process a part. (Machines at stations 1 and 3 are still more than enough.)
A two-station line where station 1 consists of 3 machines and station 2 consists of 4 machines. Further, the line produces A, B and C parts, with 35% of the total being A parts, 20% B parts and 45% C parts.
