b.Porter Five Forces:Look at obstacles you may be facing.
c.Tie relevant results of both parts a and b to the external portion of your SWOT analysis:Opportunities and Threats.
3.Now that you have a solid understanding of the external conditions which define your relevant Opportunities and Threats, it is time to focus on how you set yourself to succeed in meeting them.
4.Perform your Internal Analysis:
a.What are your current relevant Core Competencies (skill sets of the organization which create your value for the customer?
b.What Core Competencies are required to effectively succeed in relation to the defined Opportunities/Threats above?
c.What is the gap that needs to be addressed?How will you close that gap?
d.Perform a similar gap analysis (steps 4.a through 4.c) for both your Resource Based View and VRIO.
e.The results are your internal portion of your SWOT analysis:Strengths and Weaknesses.
i.Organizational Strengths are the needed relevant areas in which you are currently strong.
ii.Organizational Weaknesses are the areas in which there is a defined gap based on the multiple analysis done in parts a through d.
