3. In researching the various options, Stanley surveyed five key stakeholder groups: coaches, faculty and staff, students, student-athletes, and alumni. Which stakeholder group's opinion should be most valued when making the decision whether to reclassify athletic divisions? Which stakeholder group's opinion should be least valued? Are there any other stakeholder groups who should have been consulted. If so, who and why?

4. FTC sought to utilize athletics to increase its institutional prestige. Do you believe this to be a prudent route? What role, if any, should athletics play in improving an institution's profile?

5. Assume FTC decides to pursue membership in the NAIA or NCAA DIII. Should the institution lower its admissions standards to accommodate athletics? Why or why not? Additionally, should FTC create a new bachelor's degree program to accommodate athletes enrolled in 2-year degree programs who would otherwise be ineligible(for NCAA DIII competition)? Why or why not?

6. Assume FTC decides to pursue membership in the NAIA or NCAA DIII and additional athletic department-generated revenues (e.g., ticket sales, licensing, etc.) never materialize. Consequently, FTC athletics would be experiencing considerable financial constraints as expenses are routinely exceeding revenues. As athletics director, how would you propose this situation be addressed? Would you propose increasing student fees, deactivating certain sport offerings, decreasing competitions, or some other course of action?

7. The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) requires colleges and universities that receive Title IV funding (i.e., federal student aid) and that have an intercollegiate athletics program to annually report its athletic data(e.g., departmental revenues and expenses, coaches' salaries, etc.). Research NAIA andNCAA DIII institutions that offer football (as FTC does). Based on your research, can FTC continue to successfully operate with an annual athletics budget of $800,000?
