@ 1. Follow the instructions below. We'll use this data table and graph to analyze the motion of the ball. 1. Use the play/pause and step forward/backward controls to get the video to a point when the ball is just being released. 2. Click on the wrench/screwdriver icon in the upper right corner to display some measuring tools which include a x-y coordinate system, a vertical and horizontal ruler, and a stop watch. 3. Click on the coordinate axes and drag them so the origin is at the center of the ball just as it's being released. 4. Click on the stop watch tool and click on the little icon in its center to reset it. 5. Add a horizontal ruler so that the zero position is at the coordinate origin and similarly add a vertical ruler. 6. In the data table create three columns, one labeled Time, one labeled Horizontal Position and one labeled Vertical Position. 7. Give these columns appropriate symbols such as t, x and y, and units such as s, m, and m. 8. Step through the video and record the time, horizontal position and vertical position every 0.15 or so until just before the ball hits the ground. Do not include any data after the ball hits the ground. 9. After collecting data you will be asked below to fit your data to various curves and also add columns to the table to determine horizontal and vertical velocity data.
