1. Have the authors formulated correct hypotheses? Do you suggest any changes in
the hypotheses or totally new hypotheses?
Answer:
According to the objectives, some hypotheses are correct and some irrelevant to
the research.
H1 this hypothesis is relevant as it emphasizes importance of using correct
methodology for successful outsourcing.
H2a this hypothesis is relevant as it gives value to pre-analysis and pre
discussion before formalizing any partnership.
H2b this hypothesis is irrelevant to this research as it may not be common for
all logistics scenarios.
H3 it is fully developed and tested in the three cases that common goal forms
a good relationship, this is the foundation of the successful partnership before
any formation of outsourcing services.
2. Focusing on Case Study 1 methodology and findings, how would you have
conducted this case study?
Answer:
Before developing partnership with LSP1, we would have analyzed how many
other service providers are there in the market who could give same level of
service, preferably at a lower cost. We would find out what are the objectives or
what factors would OC1 want to examine in those potential lists of providers.
Lastly, we would check through what kind of plan or steps did the OC1 finally
select the LSP1. We all see the benefits for both companies in this case, but how
did they come into a joint position, that needs further study.
In this case, the detail selection process would be generated and simultaneously
the key successful factors would be presented.
