$1.)$ In Excel, first create an $"x^{\text{'}\text{'}}$ column $($with appropriate header$)$ where $x$ values range from $0$ to $30$ in $0\mathrm{.}5$ increments. There is no need to hand type $0,0\mathrm{.}5,1$dots$30$ all by hand, which would take a while. Instead, use the following trick: type in the first two values, highlight both cells, putyour cursor in the lower right comer untli it tums color $($from $t^t$ to $t,$ and then drag down holding the mouse button.

$11.)$ Then program a $\text{'}y\text{'}$ column $($with header$)$ which computes the value of $y$ from its corresponding $x$ value. Follow along with How to Use Excel, Section $2($p$.1).$ Note: Exce$/$ does not understand "mplict" mutiplication; use a "times" $()$ sign when needed.

iii.$)$ Make a graph of $y$ vs$.x($note$.$ this means $x\text{'}$ is on the horizontal axis.$)$ Please follow along carefully with all of the graphing guidelines $($How to Use Excel, Section $3,$ on p$\mathrm{.}3).$ You do NOT need to do any of the $"$by request" steps isted for today's lab.

$2.)$ For the tunction $z=x^2-c\sqrt[\phantom{2}]{x}$

$1.)$ Please add a third column for $z$ in your spreadsheet. Calculate your $z$ values from the same $x$ value column from above.

II$.)$ What to do with the $\text{'}c\text{'}$ in the equation'

You should use a value of $c=105.$ However, do not just incorporate that number into your equation. Instead pick two emply cells of to the side somewhere. Put this number in one of them $($this is what is actually used in the compulations$),$ and in the other, type in the leter $-$c$\text{'}$ just to keep things nicely labelled and easy to read tor others

When programming your equation for $2$ incoppoiate the cvalue by poining to this cell. Wher you drag down this formula to othar cells you wil want to keep the reference to this ceilfrem changing $($the feature" in step $1$ is now a "naw". This requires using an "absolute reference which is explained on How to Use Excel, section $2c($on p$.2)$

Once you have programred in the $2$ formula. drag it down to calculate the $2$ value for every $x.$ value.
