My furniture company has outsourced a great deal of production to our factory and the renewal of the contract is coming up. When my co-worker visited, they found that workers were engaged in a unionization campaign, but were facing significant backlash from the factory management. For instance, several employees had been fired right after they organized meetings to discuss unionization. Another group of employees had their hours cut after seeking a meeting with management to discuss complaints (such as a dangerous lack of air circulation and unpaid wages).
