1 Open the Exercise 10A file from the link above. Enable editing if necessary. Save the file as Exercise 10A. 2 Select cell A3 and then click the PivotTable button to display the Create PivotTable dialog box. Make sure New Worksheet is selected and then click the OK button. 3 Drag the Brand field from the Choose fields to add to report area to the Rows area to add the Brand field to the PivotTable. Repeat this step for the Material and Type fields (In that order with Brand on top). 4 Drag the Price field from the Choose fields to add to report area to the Values area to add the sum of the Price field to the PivotTable.

5 Change the summary calculation for Price from Sum to Average by clicking the Sum of Price button in the Values area of the PivotTable Fields task pane, click Value Field Settings, and then choose Average in the Value Field Settings dialog box. 6 Change the numbers in Average of Price column to currency style by clicking the Average of Price button in the values area of the PivotTable Fields task pane, click the Value Field Settings, and then the Number Format button. 7 Click the Report Layout button to display the Report Layout menu. Change the PivotTable report layout to tabular. Widen the columns as necessary to read the column headings. 8 Click the filter button in cell A3 to display the filter menu. Select only Kipling Leathers and Donna and then click the OK button. 9 In cell A1, using your keyboard, enter the average price of a Kipling Leathers suede bags. This will be a value, not text. Change the value to Accounting Style. 10 Click cell A4, click the PivotTable Styles More button, and then click Pivot Style Dark 2 to apply the style to the PivotTable.
