For women's woven top season A/W 23/24, fashion is moving toward versatility and more "put together" aesthetics. The key items to look out for in women's woven tops are the hourglass button-up, soft corset, asymmetric satin blouse, volume crop top, and crinkled blouse. We are bringing back dressy styles and occasionwear pieces but with the perfect twist. Incorporating more sustainable methods and versatile pieces will make woven tops better than ever in these upcoming seasons. My personal favorites to look out for are the hourglass button u, asymmetric satin blouse, and volume crop top.

The hourglass button-up is one of my favorites because I love pieces that accentuate the feminine hourglass shape. It's been said that this ever-emerging silhouette first became popular in the Victorian era of the 1800s. However, this is a very gender-fluid piece, making it highly versatile. I enjoy the clean lines and the softly padded shoulders. You could leave this piece as is or throw a chic belt around the waist. You can always dress this up or down.

The asymmetric satin blouse has a very sexy vibe, crafted from shine materials such as silk and satin. Shine materials have shown a 31% increase on the runway in the 22/23 collections. The necklines feature a similar kimono style, native to Japanese culture. I love the versatile aspect of using decorative buttons that can be fastened in ways to change the design a bit for a slightly new look. Cruelty-free peace silks are on trend for this design, providing that necessary shine while being eco-friendly. Peace silk is not vegan, but it is vegan-friendly. Silkworms are not killed in the process of retrieving this silk, they are able to complete their natural life cycle.

The volume crop top is the crop top 2.0. This is another versatile piece in occasion wear. It is just the right amount of over the top for special occasions but still possesses the versatility to be paired with some high-waisted jeans. Ruffles are bringing the volume to crop tops these upcoming seasons! I've seen this trend in high fashion brands such as Carolina Herrera, all the way to affordable, fast fashion brands like Shien. It has such a girly aesthetic, which is why it is one of my favorites. There are also designs with an edgier flair, such as Carolina Herrera's black crop, with huge ruffles, and a lovely asymmetrical neckline. To make this look sustainable, designers can opt for mono-material fabrics with heat dissolvable seams. Taffeta can also be used to eliminate the need for harmful embellishment.

Overall, women's woven tops are shifting toward sustainable, trans-seasonal styles with longevity. Occasion wear is gearing toward more structured yet dressed-up styles. We are playing up low-impact fabrics to make fashion much more eco-friendly. I look forward to seeing these styles on the street and on the runway.
