1. Purchase 2 bags (any size) of different M&M candies (any flavor - plain, peanut,

almond, peanut butter, minis, crunchy...).

2. Go to the M&M webpage and locate the percent of M&Ms of each color produced for

that particular flavor.

3. For each bag, conduct a chi-square test of goodness-of-fit to see whether that bag is a

representative sample of the M&Ms produced.

4. Then, compare the color distributions of the two bags to see whether they are the same,

using a chi-square test of independence (i.e. is peanut different from plain?).
