1. ResearchKansasBankruptcy rules- you can use other sources than the textbook.ListtheexemptionsthatareallowedunderKansaslawwhen filing for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Write up your findings in list form.

Be sure that you write up a COMPLETE LIST OF ALL ALLOWABLE EXEMPTIONS. DO NOT simply Google "Kansas Bankruptcy Exemptions." If you do that you will not get a full and complete list of exemptions (and I will be able to tell if you just Google instead of following the directions, I have given you). If you do not follow the directions, you will get a zero for this assignment. I have provided you with what you need.

In order to make a complete list of ALL exemptions, you will need to consult the Kansas State Statutes. I have posted the link below that you should use to access the website for the Statutes.

HINT: The statutes for Bankruptcy are found in Chapter 60, Article 23. If you want to search within the statutes, you need to do it by letter. You will see an alphabetical listing directly above the list of Chapters. Do not contact me and ask me to tell you where to find the list of exemptions. Part of the grade for this assignment is for you doing the research.

2. Some states allow debtors to choose between the state exemption system and a set of federal bankruptcy exemptions. What is the rule in Kansas? Can individuals who file for bankruptcy in Kansas choose between the Kansas exemptions and the federal exemptions?

3. Read the Introductory Problem in Chapter 30 on Page 857 of your textbook. Answer the three questions that are asked at the end of the problem. For the first question, assume that the Browns are residents of Kansas. Be sure your answers are written in complete sentences. DO NOT include the original question on your submission but do number your answers to correspond with how they are listed in the textbook.
