During this practical period (Weeks 5 and 6), you are asked to implement an ontology in Protg. This work will be marked out of 20. It is worth up to 10% of your overall mark for CS549. 1. Revisiting the ontology design. The problem in this ontology is that introduced in 4.09: Page: Ontology design problem. Check that you have understood the problem and the development of the ontology that has been designed as the solution. This solution is explained in Week 4 videos. 2. Implementing the ontology in Protg. Implement the ontology in Protg using the approach described in the tutorial covered by Practical 2 (Weeks 3 and 4). Add in appropriate instance data. When you have completed the ontology, save it as an RDF/XML file. This file will have an extension of '.owl'. Open the file in a text editor and make a screenshot of the sections of XML that define only Author and hasISBN. Write a brief commentary presenting these sections of code and explaining how they define Author and hasISBN. This document must be converted to .pdf. 3. Submitting the work. Once the work is completed, submit both the .pdf and .owl files to the MyPlace link. Do not zip (or otherwise compress) either of these files. 4) Formatting requirements and page limitation. Your document submission must be a PDF file and include a single page (A4, single column, portrait orientation, 11pt Arial font, no coversheets, headings, footers etc, all black text on a white 1 background, minimum 2cm margin all round ) including only the elements shown in Section 2.
