Observation:	Analysis:
During playtime, Declan engaged in a play session with his brother Mason on the climbing frame, the pair were climbing over the climbing frame and walking across the bridge. For a good 15 minutes, the brothers were taking turns on the climbing frame - a display of brotherly friendship . However, the scenario changed when a third friend joined them. Mason began acting differently, pushing Declan away. "Stop Declan", "Declan! Despite Declan's continued attempts to engage with him, Mason didn't reciprocate positively but continued to push him. This distressed Declan, resulting in tears. I approached Declan, acknowledging his emotions and offering an explanation that Mason might not be in the mood to play at this instance. I also proposed the idea of us playing together instead to which Declan agreed.	social - shows interest in playing with his brother. Analysis:
Strong emotions and handling conflict are part of a child's social and emotional development, consistent with the Early Years Learning Framework's Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity. When Declan wa upset, acknowledging his feelings was an essential part of respecting his emotional experience and assisting him in understanding his emotions. Social theorist Lev Vygotsky argues that social interactions heavily influence cognitive development. Thus, even though Mason pushed him away, Declan's continued attempts to engage could convey a developing understanding of negotiation and compromise, pivotal for interpersonal relationships.
