1.- Se desea disear una torre de absorcin para remover 90% de SO2 presente en un gas de combustin, ponindolo en contacto a contracorriente con agua. Un anlisis base seca del gas de combustin, da la siguiente composicin: 10% vol de SO2,12% vol O2 y 78% vol de N2. Este gas se alimenta saturado con vapor de agua, a 50C, a un flujo de 250ft3min, que corresponde a una velocidad superficial de 0.25fts. A 50C,pHzO=1.7891 psia. La corriente de agua alimentada contiene 0.026% peso de SO2 y saldr con 0.375% peso de SO2. A estas condiciones de operacin los coeficientes de transferencia de masa locales son: kGa=2.55lbmolhtt3atm;kLa=53.1fth.
