1. Select a Sustainability Project You are to choose a real-life company in any industry as your case study company. Once your group has decided on a company, you are to list it in the company selection sheet to avoid duplication with other groups.
Companies will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
2. Develop the Project Proposal
The project proposal should be a maximum of 5 pages single-spaced in length (12-point font), not counting the title page, references and any appendices if you use them. It should have a very professional look and make a strong impression.
The next sections provide the proposal outline with indicative page lengths. Descriptive Title The title of your report should be informative and specific to draw the reader's attention.
SDG101 Group Assignment 2 Executive Summary (No more than 1 page)
Here you should summarize the main points of your proposal to give your reader a whole picture of the project when they have no time to read it all.
You should write this section LAST but put it at the beginning. Introduction (No more than 1 page) Provide some background information about your case study company to include: a) The service and/or product offered ex. Shoe manufacturing b) Scale and type of operation ex. Headquarters and three plants overseas c) Number of employees ex. 4,000 d) Existing sustainability initiatives (1-3 is sufficient) ex. Solar panels on one of their plants e) Why it is important that the company is sustainable Project Description (No more than 2 pages) Provide a high-level description of your proposed project to include: a) Project Description: What NEW initiative are you proposing your company undertake? This can be entirely new or expand on an existing project. b) Project objectives: What do you wish to accomplish by undertaking this project? Which SDG(s) does the project address? (Ensure to link the proposed project with the relevant SDGs) c) Project Scope: Does the project apply to the entire company/all departments/all product lines/all services, or some subset, such as one location, one department or a unique product line or service? d) Project Timeline: How long will each phase take, and how long will the entire project take? What are the different segments or phases of the project? Business Case (No more than 1/2 page) Outline some of the ways your proposed project will help your company: a) Increase revenue b) Save costs c) Reduce risks Summary & Next steps (No more than 1/2 page) This section is an echo of the executive Summary. a) What are the main elements of your proposal? b) What are the next steps to move this project forward? References (Start on new page) Make sure to use in-text citations for all your references. Appendix (optional; start on new page) Feel free to provide an Appendix with additional information that is not essential for the central part of the proposal (e.g. other best practices, statistical data, figures, etc
