1.On February 6, 2020 A, a police officer received a telephone call from B stating that B's house had been robbed on February 6th, 2020. B was robbed of her laptop and a diamond ring.

2.A visits B's house on the same day to see what has happened. A finds that the lock on B's front door was damaged and that the room had been left in a state of disarray with wardrobe doors opened, B's safe was broken and the box in which the diamond ring had been stored was lying on the floor.

3.A asks B to file a complaint at the local police station and assures B that the incident would be investigated.

4.On February 6, 2020, B visits the local police station and files a written complaint with A. A then files a first information report.

5.On February 6, 2020 A enters a separate written and registered agreement with B stating that A would be responsible for investigation of the incident, gathering evidence of the crime and filing a charge sheet within one month for a sum of Rs 10,000 from B.

6.On March 10th, 2020 B files a suit against A for damages because A failed to successfully file a charge sheet against an identifiable accused person in the case.
