1 Task 1 Question: Review the WBS and Gantt chart you created for Tasks 3 and 4 in Chapter 5. Propose three to five additional activities that would help you estimate resources and durations. Write a one-page paper describing these new activities. Task 2 Question: Identify at least five milestones for the Global Treps Project. Write a short paper describing each milestone using the SMART criteria. Discuss how determining the details of these milestones might add activities or tasks to the Gantt chart. Remember that milestones normally have no duration, so you must have the tasks that will lead to completing them. Task 3 Question: Using the Gantt chart you created for Task 4 in Chapter 5 and the new activities and milestones you proposed in Tasks 1 & 2 above, create a new Gantt chart using Project 2013 or another tool. Estimate the task durations and enter dependencies as appropriate. Remember that your schedule goal for the project is six months. Print the Gantt chart and network diagram, each on one page. Task 4 Question: Write a short paper summarizing how you would assign people and/or dollars to each activity from Tasks 1, 2, and 3. Include a table or matrix listing how many hours each person would work (or how many dollars you would assign) for each task. These resource assignments should make sense given the duration estimates made in Task 3 above. Remember that duration estimates are not the same as effort estimates because they include elapsed time. 2 Task 3 Answer: Work Breakdown Structure for Global Treps Prepared by: Group 3 Date:10/8/16 1.0 Initiating 1.1 Present project options 1.2 Select project 1.3 Gather requirements 1.4 Develop project charter 2.0 Planning 2.1 Refine Requirements 2.1.1 Combine requirements 2.1.2 Prioritize requirements 2.2 Develop scope statement 2.3 Develop WBS 2.4 Acquire and Deploy 3 laptops for team members abroad 3.0 Executing 3.1 Website 3.1.1 Concept 3.1.1.1 Define requirements 3.1.1.2 Define functionality 3.1.1.3 Define risk & risk management plan 3.1.1.4 Develop project plan 3.1.1.5 Brief Bobby 3.1.2 Website design 3.1.2.1 Consult with professional web developer 3.1.3 Website development 3.1.3.1 Code website and databases 3.1.3.2 Solicit feedback from consultant 3.1.3.3 Solicit feedback from users 3.1.3.4 Make revisions as needed 3.1.4 Rollout 3.1.4.1 Secure hosting medium 3.1.4.2 Deploy website 3.1.5 Support 3.1.5.1 Fix bugs as necessary 3.2 Events 3.2.1 Plan 3 3.2.1.1 Locate venues for events 3.2.1.2 Secure catering 3.2.1.3 Arrange props, seating, sound, etc. 3.2.1.4 Develop communication plan with vendors 3.2.1.5 Arrange for translator 3.2.2 Coordinate 3.2.2.1 Communicate with vendors and personnel 3.2.2.1 Address issues as needed 3.2.3 Execute 3.2.3.1 Host the event 3.2.3.2 Address issues as needed 3.3 Business plan 3.3.1 Planning 3.3.1.1 Coordinate meeting 3.3.1.2 Set agenda 3.3.2 Document 3.3.2.1 Discussion of requirements 3.3.2.2 Develop plan 3.3.2.3 Document plan 4.0 Monitoring and Controlling 4.1 Change requests 4.2 Documentation 5.0 Closing 5.1 Update project documentation 4
