1 The beam shown in the last page is subjected to an axial force F which causes an axial strain of Eb In addition the beam is subjected to a bending moment M which causes an axial strain of Ep at the BOTTOM AND TOP surface of the beam. Assume that all the resistances in the Wheatstone bridge are initially equal and therefore the bridge is initially balanced and the gage factor of all the strain gages is the same. There are six strain gages bonded on the beam. Gages R and S are bonded on the beam perfectly along the neutral axis of the beam. Find the bridge constants for the three configurations listed below.
