1. The public sector uses the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS) to respond to emergencies. It's a proven, effective system that I personally think has done great things for this field.

Much of my career has been spent in the private sector, where most of the people I have to educate have never heard of Emergency Management, NIMS, or ICS.

This presents a decision to make: how do you make your program interface well with the public sector when most of your internal stakeholders don't use the same standards? What are some ways you can work with External Agencies to check if your approach is effective?
