The Senate has commissioned a study on the issue of autonomy in the Mindanao region by providing a budget that can cover 1,500 households in the region. On the basis of reports in the newspapers, there could be a high concentration of Muslims in the region who favors a government that is not very dependent on the central government of the Philippines.
