1. The simply supported T-beam shown below is to carry a uniformly distributed service live load of 1.88 kN/m over its 30-m span and a concentrated dead load of 60 kN at its midspan. Normal concrete having a unit weight of 23.6 kN/m3 and a design strength of fc' = 28 MP will be used. It is estimated that, at the time of transfer, the concrete will have attained 75 percent of its ultimate strength. Time-dependent losses due to shrinkage, creep and relaxation total 12 percent of the initial prestress force. The diameter of the tendons is equal to 25mm. The total height of the beam is 810mm. Determine the magnitude of initial prestress force and eccentricity of the steel centroid based on the following ACI stress limitations: fti = 3(fci')05; fcs = 0.45(fc')05; fts = 6(fc')05; and fci = 0.6(fci").5
