1.
Theo is a senior lab assistant for one of the computer labs at his college. He wants to computerize the lab scheduling so that
students can book computer usage ahead of time. He documents the database requirements as follows:
- For each computer in the lab, machine code (which is unique), descriptive name, IP Address, specification, and location are stored.
- Each day of the week is divided into time slots. A time slot is defined by a unique period code, starting time, ending time and the day of the week.
- Each lab user is identified by a user code (unique), username, contact information (telephone, e-mail, etc.), and classification. Lab assistants are also valid lab users.
- A schedule for lab assistants is maintained. Each entry consists of the term code, user code of the lab assistant, time-period, and an indicator to signify whether the lab assistant is confirmed for that time.
- A schedule of lab users is also maintained. Each entry consists of the term code, the booking date, related machine code, time-period booked, the related user code, and a flag to indicate whether the booked time was actually used.
