You must lead the innovation project/task that you prepared for in the Skills Activity. You should follow the agreed timeline to finish this for the organisation or work area:
In your work with the team:
- Use techniques and tools to facilitate creative and innovative thinking, and to generate ideas
- Assess and refine your practice to make sure you model and support positive innovation
- Determine the requirements for innovation and promote sustainable innovative activities
- Use appropriate methods to provide knowledge to the team (and any other stakeholders)
- Identify, evaluate, and manage the risks to innovation
- Promote innovative practices, processes, products/services as required to support innovation and according to the needs of those involved and the organisation
- Capture, communicate, and share relevant innovative ideas and practices
- Use team approaches that encourage communication, consultation, and team development for innovation
- Identify and provide relevant resources for the team to work on innovation
- Use strategies to foster a workplace culture of innovation
- Establish systems and processes that support team innovation.
You should also sustain innovative thinking and practice with the team and:
- Use strategies that integrate innovation into work activities
- Develop one or more processes to monitor performance, and implement this to monitor individual and collective innovative thinking and practice
- Identify and assess any potential barriers and risks to innovation and develop strategies to manage this.
When the project/task is completed, reflect on innovation performance and produce a report; you should:
- Obtain feedback on the project/task from three stakeholders that were involved (for example, this could be three team members, or you may want to include the project/task originator or another organisational person)
- Assess the feedback that you receive from the stakeholders
- Assess own and others performance to identify where improvement could be made
- Develop strategies to make improvements to own and other's performance for innovative thinking and practice
- Make a report that documents innovation performance and where improvements could be made for future innovation; you should include your improvement strategies.
Your report must be written professionally and presented according to organisational format and style requirements. This should be checked and correct in spelling, grammar, and meaning.
