1. Title: Is there any effect of gender and time of day on the stress state of a college student

2. Introduction: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether gender and time of day have an effect on the stress state of a university student since it causes me interest since I am a university student who tries to manage my stress in a effective way.

Null hypothesis: there is no significant difference in the effect of gender and time of day on the stress state of a university student.

Alternative hypothesis: There is at least one effect that has a significantly higher or lower stress level.

The independent variables are gender (Female (1), Male (2)) and time of day (morning (1), afternoon (2)).

The dependent variable is the state of stress, which on this occasion opted for a scale of 1-10.

First independent variable would be Gender (Gender) Categorized as (Female (1), Male (2)). Gender is basically a categorical variable that refers to the biological sex of the student. That is, male students are those who identify as male and were assigned their gender as male at birth, while female participants are those who identify as female and were assigned their gender as female at birth.

Second Independent Variable would be the Time of day, which I categorized as (morning (1), afternoon (2)). The time of day in this case I will classify as the time of day that the college student completed the state stress survey. Morning will be defined as 7:00 am to 12:59 pm, while afternoon will be defined as 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The dependent variable in this case is the students' state of stress, which will be presented measured on a scale from 1 to 10. The state of stress is a self-reported measure of how tired, stressed and overwhelmed the student feels at the time of complete the survey. Students rate their mood on a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 indicates a very advanced state of stress and 1 indicates a moderate state of stress. State stress is an interval scale measure.

3. Methods

Methods: A total of 80 students were recruited through social media and asked to complete an online survey. Participants were randomly assigned to one of four groups based on their gender and the time of day they completed the survey: men in the morning (20), men in the afternoon (20), women in the morning (20), and women in the the afternoon (20). The students' stress status was measured using a scale from 1 to 10 and the data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA.

Descriptive statistics: The mean and standard deviation were calculated for each group. A boxplot was used to check for normality and outliers.

Alpha level: A significance level of 0.05 was used for all statistical tests.
