1. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, color and national origin. How would you address the Title VII issues regarding the hiring of team sports coaches for a predominantly Black high school? What about a predominantly White high school? 2. Sexual discrimination in sports employment raises some of the same issues as sexual discrimination in any working environment. For example, problems may arise when reporters wish to gain access to players' locker rooms particularly after highly contested events or championship games. Sex discrimination issues also arise in terms of disparate compensation for seemingly similar work (e.g. coaching positions for men's teams vs. women's teams).
