1.) We are interested to see if there is a relationship between the average number if cups of coffee drank a day and the average number of hours a person sleeps. We asked 20 participants how many cups of coffee they drink a day and how many hours of sleep they get a night. We suspect those who get fewer hours of sleep will consume more coffee in a day. What is the best alternative hypothesis for this study?
2.) We are interested if there is a difference between persons "driving score" after they drink coffee and a person's score without drinking coffee. We are unsure if the coffee would make them better or worse drivers. We had 20 participants (10 male and 10 female) come in to take a driving test early in the week before they had their coffee. Our expert driver rode with each of them and gave them a score 0-100 then, we asked the same people to come back later in the week after they drank their coffee that day. Our expert scored each of them again. State the best alternative hypothesis for this study.
