How can we better protect our passengers and crew from the coronavirus? Think of all the different ways passengers and crew members interact on a ship, i.e. the regularly scheduled activities for passengers (shows, crafts, games, swimming, eating} and how those things could be modied or changed if coronavirus is detected. 2. What should be done with the Diamond Princess cruise ship? She cost $500 million in 2004 and would likely cost $1 billion or more today to replace. Who would want to book passage on the Diamond Princess after 621 of its passengers were infected with the coronavirus? Should the Diamond Princess be disinfected and put back to sea like other ships infected with the norovirus? If so, what does the plan look like? 3. Should the ship be completely renovated with a different design and interior at a potential cost of $125 million to $200 million? What decision criteria should guide us as we choose between these options? 4. Finally, what steps should be taken in the short-term to help Carnival survive nancially over the next year? Do we follow the lead of our competitors and cancel our Asian cruises? If so, how long? What do we do with those ships and their crews?
