The First Amendment of the Constitution provides generally provides freedom of speech and protection from infringement of that freedom by "state action". In other words, private companies, in the absence of other laws or restrictions are free to restrict speech on their platforms and sites without violating the First Amendment. Recently the South Korean Internet Service Provider (ISP) SK Broadband sued Netflix for costs for due to increased network traffic and maintenance. According the SK, Netflix owes it 27.2 billion for using so much bandwith due to traffic surges associated with streaming productions such as Squid Game and DP. The ISP handles roughly 1,200 gigabits of data per Second-24 times more than it did in 2018. Netflix counters SK's claims by touting its contributions to the South Korean Economy by creating 16,000 jobs and $4.8 billion in growth. Netflix also claims that it has been a platform for the Spread of Hallyu (Korean Wave) culture and that Squid Game is the first Korean Series to make it to the No. 1 spot on Netflix. Should Netflix be obligated to pay bandwith fees to ensure it's content reaches its subscribers
