a) First, compute depreciation for 2017 using Excel.

The building is nonresidential real property (Exhibit 5.6 on p. 5-44); use chart on p. 5-25 to classify office furniture & trucks and then Exhibit 5.4 on p. 5-43.Neither 179 nor any bonus methods have been used on these assets.(NB: The assets were acquired in 2016, but this is a 2017 problem.)
