The basic annual salary of Brenda is R240 000. She is entitled to an annual bonus of R20 000. Her employer
contributes R24 000 per annum to her pension fund. She works for 8 hours per day from Monday to Friday each
week. She is entitled to 21 days paid vacation leave. There are 12 public holidays (non-working days) in the year
(365 days), 10 of which fall on weekdays.

straight piecework wage incentive scheme.

Jackie is employed by Asic Clothing Manufacturers to sew jerseys. The standard time to sew one jersey is 30
minutes. She is paid R100 per hour and the normal working time is 8 hours per day. If she sews more than her
quota, she receives twice the hourly rate on the additional output. On 25 May 2021 she sewed 20 jerseys.
