All costs other than corporate fixed costs listed under each product line could be avoided if the product line was dropped. Corporate fixed costs totalled $125 000, and the total sales amounted to 5000 units, producing the average cost per unit of $25. About $10 000 of the corporate fixed costs could be avoided if the Loser was dropped, and about $15000 of the corporate fixed costs could be avoided if the Big Winner was dropped. The remaining $100 000 could be avoided only by going out of business entirely.
