After investigation, Hurtin decided to recall about 4800 units of the boots sold between November 2016 and December 2017.They found that the cleats installed on boots manufactured during that time were defective and that the defects were undetected by the testing facilities. Prior to Red's injury, testing consisted of one run down a ski slope without any jumps.
