1.Jorge wanted to estimate the number of mustangs in a wild herd. He taagged 6 mustangs and sent them back to their herd. The next month he spotted 2 tagged mustangs out of the 15 mustangs spotted.. Estimate the size of the mustang population.
2. Rose gaming designed a new boardgame that includes a spinner. The spinner has equal sections that are either blue, green, red, yellow or purple. Each section also includes a number, 1-5. If someone spins the spinner one time, the probability of landing on blue is 0.5 and the probability of landing on green is half of the probability of landing on blue. There is a 5% chance of landing on red and an equal probability of landing on either yellow or purple.
In the game, you get a bonus for landing on an even number and a penalty for landing on a odd number. The game developers wanted there to be a slightly higher probability of getting a bonus versus getting a penalty but to keep the probabilities as close to the same as possible. If each color on the spinner is assigned to only one number ( i.e., all yellow sections have the same number on them), determine what number each color section should have to meet the developersrequirement. Find the probability of landing on even and the probability of landing on odd.
