1.Think of a group of interest to criminologists that you may have insider status with (this could be a risk-associated group like gang members or families of incarcerated people, or a protective group like church member or community group). Would you be willing to use your insider status to empirically research that group? WHY or WHY NOT?Would you study that group through focus groups or one-on-one interviews? WHY would that format be preferable to the other for this particular group?Finally, note at least one benefit to criminology by research with that group, as well as one potential drawback to the methodology you chose.
