2-Usain Bolt in Germany in 2009 ran 100 m in 9.58 seconds. What was his speed in miles per hour on this run?

There has been much scientific interest in what is the human speed limit. Has Usain Bolt reached the pinnacle of human speed? As they say, the jury is still out. In a 2010 article in "the New Scientist", science writer David Robson asked Stanford professor of engineering, Mark Denny, this question, and Denny, after careful analysis concluded that Bolt achieved his great average speed because of his long easy stride. He took 41 steps to finish the race, the other competitors took, on average 47 steps. Asked if someone taller and more muscular came along if they had a chance of surpassing Bolt's time, Denny though probably not. The added weight due to the long limbs and increased muscle would slow the person down.

However, if you do a quick search of the internet, eliminate the quacks and go to real scientists working with athletes and coaches, you find articles that think maybe humans could even run at 40 mph! So who knows. One thing I seem to know--it may be wrong--is that whenever we say, "this record will never be broken." Guess what happens?
