2. A Honda Integra Type-R 2.0 L turbocharged engine has been installed with four new fuel injectors. In order to analyse the performance of emission system due to the modification, exhaust gas emissions were measured by using 4-Gas Analyser Machine and overall data is obtained as in Table 1. The car is tested at engine idling condition (780 rpm) and high-speed condition (3600 rpm). Table 1: Emission measurement data Measurement Data 780 rpm 3600 rpm Coolant temperature [C] 87 89 Engine temperature (C] 71 74 CO2 8.25 % 14.47% CO 7.32 % 4.38 % 02 5.35 % 2.95 % HC (ppm vol] 152 115 Lambda 0.95 1.085 a) The car is tested using petrol (C7H17) and then change to isooctane (C3H18) as combustion fuel. Calculate the stoichiometric ratio of both fuels. (8 marks) (CLO2:PLO1:C3) b) Calculate the actual air-fuel ratio for both conditions when petrol is used as a combustion fuel. (18 marks) (CLO2:PLO1:C4) c) Calculate the equivalence ratio for both conditions when petrol is used as a combustion fuel. (4 marks) (CLO2:PLOI:C3) 2.
