amendment was proposed), and Completed (the date the amendment was ratied). Note the format

of the dates. Load this le into R as a data frame. Make each of the following alterations to this data

frame:

  • Alter the Proposed and Completed variables so that they are stored as date data.
  • Make a new variable called Elapsed that is the dierence between the proposal and ratication

dates of the amendments, in days.

  • Make a new variable called Swift. Swift should be assigned a value of 'Yes' if Elapsed is less

than or equal to 365 days, whereas it should be assigned a value of 'No' if Elapsed is greater than 365 days.

Print the resulting data frame and report your output.
