2. Two blocks are stacked on top of one another in an elevator. Block A is on top and has mass 5 kg. Block B is on the bottom and has mass 7 kg. On the floor of the elevator underneath Block B is a bathroom scale that reads in Newtons. The elevator is moving and the scale is reading 100N. A) Draw a LARGE, neat combined free-body diagram of both blocks together as one object. Your FBD must include all elements of a complete FBD, including three-word-descriptions on forces and numerical values of each force and of the net force. B) What is the magnitude and direction of the elevator's acceleration? Show your work. C) It is possible that the elevator is moving up. If so, is it getting faster or slower? It is also possible that the elevator is moving down. If so, it is getting faster or slower? D) Now draw LARGE, complete FBDs of each block alone. Include ALL elements of a complete FBD. E) On your diagrams in part D), circle any pair of forces that is a Newton's third-law pair. If there are more than one third law pairs, put squares around the second pair and triangles around the third pair
