H had been looking forward to his retirement as a school headmaster for some time in order to dedicate more time to bird watching. In order to celebrate his retirement, and his recent electi as president of his local bird watching club in Christchurch, he organized a trip to Stewart Island. He hired a bus and driver for $5000 and has paid a deposit of $500. He has al booked a hotel on the island in his name. The ten other members of the bird watching club w so excited about the prospect of the trip that they paid Patrick up front. A day before they wer due to leave on the trip all bus drivers went on strike. Patrick has consequently had to cancel bird watching trip. He is being pursued by the hotel owners for loss of profits, and the membe of the bird watching club are very disappointed.
