Prepare an itinerary, listing the appointments and noting the number of hours for travel time and the time difference between Calgary and China. There is a 15- hour time difference from Calgary to Beijing; e.g., if it is 1:30 p.m., October 3, in Calgary, it is 4:30 a.m., October 4, in Beijing, China. Time zone maps can be found on the Internet. The flight time is approximately 12 hours. Travel time is highlighted for your information only in the sample itinerary that follows. Students may not realize that the actual time spent travelling when heading west is less than when heading east. They should provide different travel time information for the outgoing and inbound flights based on the information that is available to them when making the mock flight arrangements.
