1. Mary goes on to tell you that for the last few weeks she has really wanted to cut down drinking and has been thinking about stopping but that she is scared. Mary says that she has tried cutting down in the past but every time she ends up returning to drinking within a few days. Mary tells you that she's worried that if she tries to stop this time and fails again, then it will mean that she is a bad mother because she's not strong enough to stop for her own daughter.
