At this time, the retained earnings of Coriander were R255 million and the fair value of the noncontrolling interest was R80 million (2) At 1 May 20X3 it was determined that land in the books of Coriander with a carrying value of R100 million had a fair value of R135 million 3) Coriander acquired 70% of the equity shares of Thyme on 1 May 20X4 at a cost of R335 million.
