3. (20 pts) A fishing line manufacturer claims that his new X-25 series has an average tensile strength (j) of 25 pai. To verify his claim, a sample of 11 specimens was tested and yielded the following results:24, 20, 17, 23, 26, 29, 27, 29, 26, 33, 19 a. Is the claim valid? (The claim is considered valid if a computed sampling statistic about the mean fell in the middle 90%% area of the associated sampling distribution) b. A competitor has a similar product with the same claim. Thirteen measurement were taken from the competitor's product and they are: 37, 28, 30, 32, 23, 31, 25, 33, 27, 32, 26, 30, 35. Assume that the variances are equal, is there any difference between the thickness on the two different fishing lines? (The claim is considered valid if a computed sampling statistic about the difference in means fell in the middle 90% arca of the associated sampling distribution)
