3. A group of researchers in Netherlands conducted a study that aimed to help people overcome their fear of spiders (arachnophobia) by giving them a drug called propranolol. This drug helps the participants forget that they have a fear of spiders. There were two groups of participants that became part of the experiment the experimental group included those who received the drug while the placebocontrol group received a "fake" drug. After taking the drug, the two groups rated their degree of fear of spiders using an 3point Likert scale with 10 items. The researchers hypothesized that the experimental group would have lower fear rating than the placebocontrol group. Below are their fear ratings (the scores are not based on the real study).
