3 ) Consider the following model of lifetime fertility, where kids is the number of children ever born to woman i age is that woman's age in years, and educ is the number of years of education that she has completed: kids; = Bo + Bagel + Bzeduct + & a. [10 points] Using data from the file ps1.dta, estimate the model shown above by OLS using the regress command in Stata. As always, be sure to include your Stata output (showing the regression command used and the complete regression output). Tip: To make your Stata output look nice, you should use a fixed-width font such as Courier; this will make everything line up the way it does in the Stata display. b. [5 points] Provide a clear and specific interpretation of the estimated coefficient on educ c. [10 points] Confirm the R2 value produced by Stata by manually calculating it yourself from any other relevant elements of the Stata output. d. [10 points] Now add the meduc variable (which measures the educational attainment of woman i's mother in years) to the model and estimate it using the regress command. What happens to the value of R2 (not R'; note the bar over the R) explain what this tells you about the new model (with meduc included) compared to the original one (which did not include meduc)
